Right now, I prefer Mommy

The first time your kids call you "mom" is music to your ears. The 100th time you hear them call you "mommy" as you're in the middle of trying to do something as they constantly pull your arm/leg/finger can get quite annoying....but still cute to hear it from their little innocent voices.

So, lately Rachel has been saying "mom" instead of "mommy" sometimes. You can imagine my surprise when she said, "I don't want that mom". I paused. Did my 3 year old say a comment that just made me fast forward to her teen years saying "ok mom" as she hypothetically walks away from me? At that moment she sounded older.

We have a long way to go, but please, I prefer mommy for now!
