5 Year Wedding Anniversary

We recently celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary. With so much going on right now we kept it simple. Most people would probably take a trip, do a weekend getaway, etc....and yes, that is what we would have loved to do but hey, life gets busy sometimes. Maybe we'll start planning now for our 10 year wedding anniversary...it will be here faster than we can imagine!

So, we did get alone time for a sushi lunch date. You know the sushi is good when it just melts in your mouth.

Later that night we headed to the boardwalk to get the kiddos some summer clothes and after one meltdown we managed to grab a quick dinner at Salt Grass.

And, after 5 years of marriage, this is what it's all about. Creating a family based on the foundation of the love that started that day 5 years ago on April 17th when we took our vows. It's no longer about me, about him, or about us....it's about our family and these 2 tiny humans we created. I know how easy it is to forget about your spouse when you have kids. But as much as you tend to them and love on them we can't neglect our marriage. Whoever said the first year of marriage was the hardest lied. It truly is that first year of having a kid(s). But, we are learning every day from each other. While roses and fancy gifts might have put a big smile on my face in the past, clean clothes and dishes can go further these days:)
